After a Tip off about a rusting Jay Van and a google search of the area I paid the old guy (John) a visit to check out what I was hoping would be another Jay Van, but it's a bit to rusty for me I did get a tidy front grill badge though!
The back half is very much amateur home made ! it's got a side valve motor, the ID tag was corroded to dust! gauges were in tact! and yes it has wheels and running gear,If you may be keen to buy this van let me know!

I've started on a repaint mission on my 120Y so I can sell it to finance the Jay Van, Who ever painted it last time was probably an Auto Electrician too! the roof and bonnet are so crazed it looks like the paint was poured on its so thick, so have to be taken back to bare metal and start from scratch.

Dragged the ole rust bucket (Chassis Number JR 23555,Which according to my learned friend Roly makes it 1954 vintage!) closer to home last week, It's about 10 Kms down the road where I'll strip it down a bit , Rust is a bit more prevalent than I realized nothing the sand blaster can't sort! well I'll have a two seater! At some stage this van was a sign writers wagon, Sign's (09) 420**** on passengers door

I've only been looking for a Morris J Van for about two months, after seeing a wanted add on TardMe (deliberately misspellt !) that ignited a spark within my childhood memories of seeing these sinister looking vans and telling my Dad "Look Dad theres a Burgler Van". So I've won this auction on TardMe... http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=167192175
