First Contact

I've only been looking for a Morris J Van for about two months, after seeing a wanted add on TardMe (deliberately misspellt !) that ignited a spark within my childhood memories of seeing these sinister looking vans and telling my Dad "Look Dad theres a Burgler Van". So I've won this auction on TardMe... http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=167192175

Hi mate, Magpie here!, many thanks for leaving your message. Glad to see you have bought this van. I often look at ebay/trade sites just to see what turns up.
Could you let me know the chassis number of your van, it should be on a plate near the radiator filling cap. We can then date your van, it does not look like a 1949 vehicle, of course many bits might have been changed over the years. I hope you like my blog site and if there is any help I can give just let me know. Always willing to help a fellow J type owner. A "Boons" bread van was recently imported from NZ, would you like a picture? speak soon, rolyjb@yahoo.co.uk

Hi Grant, from Darwin, Australia. I too have a Morris van, but mine is a 1959 JB type with the 1489cc OHV engine. Not on the road yet, but not too far away. As an auto sparkie, you have a big advantage, and who knows ... we may even need to pick your brains at times! Cheers and 'Morris on'! Regards - Bugly

Gidday Bugly, Hey I don't think the electrics in these ole Morry's is that much of a brain teaser! But I'm more than willing to offer my help.
